Today I worked and watched Freaky Friday and made Emily brush all the matted parts out of her nearly dreadlocked hair (seriously, does her mom make her brush her hair ever?) while I waited for it to be Casey-time! I woke the sleepy boy up and we had yummy egg bake (which he'd never had) and grocery shopped (yay king soopers! yay King Kong tickets!) We eventually decided to go paddleboating on the lake, which was nice. We got really close to a duck and muskrat, and we hit Sammie, Mom, and Emily head on in their boat. Ours was named the Sherpa! Funny! Casey liked using my lifejacket to pull me closer to him so he could tickle me. I couldn't escape cause, hell, i was in the middle of a lake! I was somewhat less amused than he.
then we got Baskin Robbins (and I saw Greg there! and other OOTI people! oh HS) and we ate it by the creek and walked all over downtown evergreen. We went in the evergreen gallery and I was entrancecd by these awesome aspen pots - did I mention i'm obsessed with how beautiful aspens are? Cause I am. Casey decided that if he's rich and famous he's going to have like, huge beautiful pottery on a pillar in his house, and people will admire the amazing art, and he will keep whoppers in it for fun.
After downtown we looked at pictures from last year (I have my huge album) and helped Mom make stir fry. Yum. Hey, infested squeaks is ok - apparently the vets have been seeing a lot of that this year.
Then Casey and I changed for Kempo (i looked damn cute and sporty) and headed down for that, and some swing dancing. Kempo was mostly about Casey - I stood and watched probably 60 percent of the time. It was a blast to watch though. Kyle's dad was there too - the American Kempo guy. i didn't realize that was so different. I got to spar with Casey using these little knuckle pillow things so i could practice punching. he had a chest protector thing on. I was surprised how hard i could punch! I mean, not terribly hard considering i'm just learning and punching a guy, but still, i was like, hey! that wasn't too wimpy! go me! I was totally impressed by Casey - there's like this whole other side of him that I never see that I got to see that night. It was incredible (and hot!). I knew he was good but i didn't know he was like, one belt away from being the same level as my instructor. He's really good! Kyle had fun playing with him and comparing how they were taught stuff and it was cute.
Dancing was a blast. We only stayed like an hour and a half, but man did we dance well together!!! I LOVE dancing with him. He got really creative last night - i saw lots of new moves from him i'd never expected! His slow dancing has really improved - watch out Ian! haha. Casey kept saying what a good time he had. :-)
