Today was a pretty easy day with Emily because we played Sims at my house til like 1 pm. And by "we played" i clearly mean she played and I went on my computer and made that quiz. Yay! Then numb-mouthed-Sammie joined us for Lunch, a Movie (Monster House) and shopping at Barnes and Noble. I couldn't decide between these two books - another more in depth historical linguistics book "The Stories of English" by David Crystal, and a book on the cultural framework and mythology and peoples that Beowulf was set in and reveals - "Beowulf and Grendel." So I got both. Haha. I think that very early medieval northern europe with an emphasis on culture, language, and literature is my primary history interest, but realized I don't actually know a boatload about Anglo-Saxon tribes or linguistics, so how do i know that's what really lights my intellectual fire? I've just always assumed and been amazingly interested in anything on that subject.
I decided I should actually LEARN more about it. I'm really excited about these books. My mom thinks they look like boring textbooks with small print. How little she knows!!!
I spent the evening reorganizing some photos (they're not perfectly chronological, but with a small amount of effort they're a little more logical now) and watching LOST with Sammie. Locke is so wise. Now i'm showered and feelin squeaky clean.
Squeaksies is SO CUTE this evening. Oh Saucy!
