OMG Kempo is such a blast. Today we worked on blocks (I got a little frustrated on the upper block because i have a hard time watching Kyle and mirroring how he's moving so I can do it, and then reversing it again so that i can do it in the other direction... my body gets spacially confused) and some kicks (we blazed through stuff in minutes that Casey and I worked on for half an hour! This class moves fast; I don't think they're used to having a beginner.) and we worked on movement a lot, like changing directions and turning, which was neat once I got it but a little hard to make work in my brain. i am fine with footwork it's the hand stuff that i don't do as well.
Then we did a technique that was like pretty complicated, but I PUSHED A FULL GROWN 38 YEAR OLD MAN TO THE GROUND WITH FINESSE! Its all about control and pressure points, so me this little girl could totally be like, BAM and twist this guys arm back and knock him to the ground. It was a lot to learn though and i'm not sure i've got the arm twist and push thing right yet.
I cracked up when Jeff was so excited to teach me how to defend myself from rapists with the special kick to the balls. Sounds painful.
Emily and I had a boring day, but she laid on my leg when we watched ZORRO (!) and that made me smile. I know you actually like Me Emily, you can't fool me.
