Holiday family time

Sammie and Mom came in from Monday to Wednesday to celebrate the holidays with me. We opened presents which was a blast, and shopped for x-mas sweaters at the downtown Macy's. Mom just kept bringing us sweater after sweater and Sammie and I must have tried on the whole department. We laughed a LOT about the awkward ugly sweaters ("you could go hang-gliding in that!") and had a hard time picking between all the cute cozy ones we found. I love shopping with Sammie. She's very honest - "Not cute!" We were laughing hard at Sammie's desire for the ridiculous(ly cute) poncho. I'm wearing one now on this windy snow day, thanks Mom!

We also ate out a LOT which was deliciously indulgent and relaxing. We picked some good places this time - WEGAP, Panera, Spaghetti Factory, The Fountain, Cafe Ventana, etc. So much good food and good conversation.
Here's a foodstagram of my dessert at Ventana. Sammie got to try gooey butter cake, so that's one more St. Louis tradition experienced!

I had a practice skype exam with Dr. Smith on Wednesday, so I had to spend some of the time they were here studying and then taking that, but it was still so great to spend time with my family at the holidays. <3
