Baroque Art Day!

Today is a good day because I'm finally starting to feel a little better. This cold knocked me off my feet this week. Luckily I've been doing a lot of sleeping in. And the first signs of health couldn't have come at a better time - I have teaching today and tomorrow, and lots of events to attend!

Teaching this morning went quite well! As a small part of our class time, I managed to show a PPT, which involves WAY more tech steps than it should in our "smart" classrooms. Luckily I had time to tinker with the three different systems that need to be enabled for everything to work while the students took their map quiz. I'm pretty proud of how everything went - The PPT was a slideshow of Baroque art, which captures the emotional spirituality of the Counter-Reformation as well as the opulence of the Age of Absolutism, which were the subjects of Monday's and Wednesday's lectures respectively. I got to show all my very favorite Baroque paintings and sculptures - I really miss taking art history classes. This mixed things up a bit from our normal routine, and got different people talking in class. I think it really helped synthesize all the points we've been emphasizing about this period in a relaxing, entertaining, and beautiful way.

Since winter weather has returned after StL's forbidden February tryst with Spring last week, I got yet another chance to wear one of my favorite winter things - This sweater dress that my Mom got me! I've worn it a BUNCH this chilly season (like on my b-day!)

Sweater Dress: Macy's, Gift from Mom
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse
Belt: Marshall's
Purple Bracelet: Pandora, Gift from Mother-in-law
Black Headband: Gift from Sister
Purple Earrings: Gift from EHS friend

Isn't the neck of this sweater pretty? I love the buttons.

And this bracelet is one of my other new favorite things! It was an xmas gift from Casey's mom. It's one of those Pandora bracelets, and she got me a little doggy charm. I love the purple leather bracelet and the funny little silver dog, and because I wear so much purple, it matches most of my closet.
