So tonight we've been invited to have a canon law party at the Fr. Schoenig's Jesuit house. PLUS it's a beautiful sunny day, so I'm hoping to dress for both occasions.
The problem I had this morning was finding something comfy and springy to suit my mood for this hot gorgeous day that would also be appropriate to wear to a party at a monk's house. So, I figured as long as I stuck to Mormon dress code (which I usually do whenever I go places where modesty is preferable) I'd probably be fine. Mormon dress code means not to low cut, not too short, not too tight, with some semblance of sleeves. It's just one step beyond middle school dress code really.
How do you like my breezy hopefully-appropriate party dress on this warm weekend day?

I know this is a lot of pictures, but I really love this new dress. I recently wore it last weekend to my grandfather's 80th birthday party after Katie's wedding in NC. The jersey material made it perfect to pack in my suitcase cause there's no worry about it wrinkling. I just got it on super sale AND with a gift card from my Aunt Carol at Ann Taylor Loft, and I think I might live in it this summer cause it's so comfy and easy.
One of my favorite things about it though is that I think the pattern and color combo mean my Marshall Island earrings from Ashley go really well with this dress! I don't wear them very often cause I'm not always sure what to put them with, but I'm crazy about them. They're made out of woven straw that fans out around a gray pearl bead. They're so happy and summery.
On the rack I thought I'd hate the fluttery sleeves, but I actually love them. They feel light and fun. I hope the weather stays this nice all day! Time to eat lunch and walk the dog! Then I'm gonna bake banana bread and read about the Jews some more before the party. Good day!
PS - UFC PPV with friends post-party tonight! yay. GSP is fighting - he's my favorite! So attractive and unbeatable.
