Ahhh weekend.
I am totally done with Pasta House, which is great. I was actually a little bit sad to go, because even though I disliked the job and the rude customers and burning my fingers on hot carryout orders, I really did enjoy all the people I worked with, and a few of the regulars at the bar, like Stew and his wife Shelly. He brought me a rose from Straub's market on my last day, which was really really sweet. It's gorgeous too - pink/orange with tinges of yellow on top. And all the waiters were sad to see me go. It was nice to feel like they enjoyed working with me too.
We had sort of made plans for Danielle to visit this weekend, which didn't end up working out. At least now my apartment is SUPER clean (cause I clean best before guests) which is really nice, and now we actually have a relaxing weekend after bettendorf and the LZ trip two weekends in a row! It's been a busy summer for weekends.
I saw Casey's show last night, Drawn and Quartered with Immediacy theatre. It was REALLY a LOT of fun. I don't know the last time I laughed so hard at a play or movie. It was 35 really short (like max 2 minutes) mini-plays performed in an order chosen by the audience. So after one play ended and the host called "Curtain" the audience would all SHOUT out the number of the play they wanted to see next. I loved the two plays Casey wrote, one of which opened the show. He got a lot of really big laughs all night, because he really GOES for it, which made the funny plays all the better. My favorites were "Alan Rickman reads me a bedtime story" (Casey played Alan Rickman - so funny) and "Who wants to look awesome tonight?" which was Casey's favorite. He made that skit. There were tons I enjoyed, and a few I didn't really get cause they were artsy, but none that I disliked. I'm so glad I got to see it and see how much fun Casey was having up there with this weird alternative play. Apparently Immediacy theatre does Drawn and Quartered plays a couple times a year with this company, and would really like Casey to come back for more. He can't do the next because of Macbeth, but said he'd love to participate again, and I totally see why. I know he was a little skeptical as to how this play was going to go, and he needn't have worried because the audience had a blast - including me. :-)
Friday night I went out with the cast after the show to this wonderful little bar near the theatre called The Royale. I barely talked to Casey all night cause I was so caught up having great conversations with the people I met there. We were less social Saturday at the Royale, and came home early to watch ALIAS. I love that we're getting through it so fast, and that Casey seems to be really into it. I mean, how can you not be though? And I didn't appreciate this when I first was watching this first season, but I can see now that Jennifer Garner is just a fantastic fantastic actor. As Casey keeps saying "she gets stakes!" which makes the show just that much more fun, because all the actors are just so talented.
Today is reserved for Julie & Julia and playing dnd with friends! :-)
In other news, I've made a website for the wedding, to relay all sorts of relevant information to guests! Please peruse!
