another good day

After a wonderful morning of scrapbooking (today's pages included winter stuff, Dark Purple, and the minnesota trip) Mom, Sam, and I went to AE to make some returns, exchanges, and purchases. Between the 2 returns, 1 exchange, a $50 gift card, and 3 cash card coupons, I got $200 worth of really cute new clothes (pajama pants, new khakis, 2 pairs of socks, a lime green striped blouse, adorable shorts to wear to phoenix, a white top, and a blue tee) for $30 out of my pocket. NOT BAD if I do say so myself. Sammie of course helped me decide whether or not things I looked at were fashionable.

In the afternoon I met Steven for The Golden Compass. He was a little irked at some of the changes but overall really pleased with the movie, and decided that they probably couldn't have done it any better for what they were trying to do. I hope they make the next two books. Anyway, that was fun. I remember how he talks through movies, and I remember that I used to really like that because I did too, but now it's like "shh! people will be mad that we're whispering about it!" A side effect from dating Casey I suppose. We also walked the mall, perused Earthbound where we played with magnets, hit Target, and had appetizer-dinner at Chile's. God yum southwest egg rolls. YUM! Steven's a good conversationalist. I like when people listen to what you have to say, and ask you stuff about your life because they just want to know, and also tell you a lot about what's going on with them as well. Sometimes people are content just to tell you what is going on with them and not really ask or care about you too much. I like when conversations are so 50/50 like tonight.

It's funny. After hanging out with Steven today I remember all the things I liked about him for so long, but also realize why Casey and I are much more suited for one another than I ever would have been with Steven, had he been interested in dating me too! How long ago it all seems now. Ha, highschool crushes. Point is, I had a fun afternoon, it's really nice to hang out with Steven w/out the lame highschool mega-crush aspect, and Golden Compass was great to see again.

Came home, considered going dancing late with Wiley, decided just to get in the shower, and applied to Cornell University! It's my #1 top reach pick that I won't get into. Even Professor Miller, with his unfailing and unrealistic confidence in me doesn't think I really have much of a chance there. Shmeh. I applied. Reach for the stars I guess!

I love ending my day chatting with Casey. Feels weird when we don't get to talk very much before bed.

PS - why does no one update or email over break? I feel like I'm the only one on the internet!
