Got out early from Latin class today - I think I aced my quiz again, which is good considering I studied really hard for it - and had 20 minutes left on the meter so I grabbed my lunch and ate it outside in the beautiful weather. Took of my polo too and just wore a nice tank top out in the Boulder sun. It was such a perfect 20 minutes, I cannot even describe. I stretched while I ate raisins. The weather was so lovely today; I really do like Boulder. I need to get together with Dave, dammit!
At the internship I pestered Leigh with lots of questions again - she doesn't seem to mind at all. She just got out of grad school so I think she likes having a young woman like me on the floor with her. Everyone else around us is older men, or this one young guy.
Archiving is quite fun, contrary to what one might assume. I started organizing the random-box-o-artifacts into related groups of things, and busted out the acid free file folders. I couldn't decide for awhile if the stock certificates should be grouped by date, by company, or by shareholder. I eventually decided company, mostly mining and construction companies. There are so many weird archiving decisions that I never anticipated being problems, especially about dating things. Saw an article in an old old old newspaper about a scandal at Colorado College when the student newspaper wasn't circulated because it had questionable vulgar material in it. Dirty jokes apparently, but I didn't find them especially note-worthily dirty, or funny really. I bet that author would freak out about our opinions section of the Cornellian, were he alive today. Anyway didn't make AS much progress as I would have liked, but I did take a break today to talk to Casey and eat a snack, and I had a meeting with Rebecca from the library talking about what I could do there too. We got off on tangents, mostly about ancient South American civilizations (idk how it came up) and goodness she's longwinded, but very nice. So I did have about 1 hour less time to work than anticipated.
In other internship news, there's this guy that works there that looks my age with an office just down the hall, and every time I pass by him or stop to talk to the person he's talking to like Keith or something, he checks me out! I mean like eyes all the way down the body and all the way back up again. Seriously, dude, stop; you're not subtle at all. He's really tall and bookish and reminds me of someone... but I can't place it yet.
My sister and cousin are out on the driveway roasting marshmallows in the bonfire. I joined them for a little bit but left when I dropped two s'mores in the fire and got mad. Being the thoughtful girls they are though, they brought me up a masterpiece of a s'more as they didn't light the marshmallow on fire (as they are wont to do). Delicient.
Time for 3 hours of Latin.
God I want to go dancing. I need to bargain with my mom about letting me go Sunday somehow, because every time I pass Welton on my way home I think "I take that to go dancing...." and it really makes me ache to lindy. If I can't go Sunday then I'll hang with Dave, and I'm going Tuesday or Thursday night come hell or high water.
