(I promise this entry won't be as long as the last.)
So I went back to work today. I thought this week was going to be hell. But, in fact, today was really easy and a lot of fun! Emily and I scrapbooked and I finally put the scrapbook Sammi gave me last year for my birthday to good use - Cornell Scrapbook!!! It's fun; I just picked out a few pictures from Freshman year - should be good cause the first three pages are breathtaking.
OMG OMG OMG. OMG!!!111oneoneone (My family is home!!!!) And my mom brought me this cool booklet Grammie had on the Bayoux Tapestry (a huge Medieval english tapestry relating the time of Harold) that i can't wait to absorb,
AND GET THIS - they hung out with Thor's dad, and apparently he STUDIED MIDDLE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN GRADUATE SCHOOL!!!! And so he sent Mom back to me with another historical linguistics book on english and an entire COURSE (The History of the English Language) on EIGHTEEN CDs and three books by a Stanford Professor that I can NOT wait to dive into. I'm such a nerd that my hands are like shaking as i type this because i just got these CDs like, 10 minutes ago. Oh my god!!!
SO MUCH I WANT TO LISTEN TO! Because I also just got LOTR Book on Tape (for $9 on super bargain at Borders!!! it should be like 50!) and i've been listening to those a lot in the car. I'm at the part with Tom Bombadil. Who else thinks Tom Bombadil is the SHIT and it's a shame he was left out of the movies? Cause i do. what an enigma that character is. Man, i wanna BE tolkien so bad. I'm not gonna lie, a part of me is seriously wondering if I could get into Oxford for graduate school. I got GRE study books. I wanna go to Oxford everyone, and i'm not afraid to say that anymore. I fell in love with it when we toured it (and Davidson and I fell behind the tour taking so many pictures - camera buddy!!!) That would rock. My cousin Samantha went there, why can't I?!
In other news, I went dancing last night and had a lot of fun! Surprise - Christian came too! Apparently the merc's roof leaks when it rains. There was a man there teaching his son (who i don't think was all there) how to dance, and we saw 2 of the 3 lewd people again, but they were acting normal this time. My favorite dances were with green shirt Chuck who made amusing response noises of "wooh!" "Yah!" and "Ahh!" and said I was a delightful dancr, and with 'Smooth Guy' as Ashley and I named him. He was So friendly! Joey... I MEAN TOMMY was there too and he was all weird because he saw me there with Casey last time and kept talking about how he didnt' want to intrude on me and my boyfriend when he saw me there, thought that would be awkward. What?! Anyway, dancing was good.
OMG can i wait any longer before i start Lecture Number One of my new Course?!?! maybe, and then again, maybe not. We'll see how i feel after i get in PJs.
