- fell asleep at three a.m.

- got up at eight-thirty, zombie-like.

- went in, it being Horrible Thursday which I cannot avoid.

- discovered that we were still on LA Confidential in English

Yes, yes it does. I have been known to occupy myself with only a pen for hours, or however long it took my arm to run out of space.

Of course, the only time I have ever resorted to this was in grade 11, except for that time we had an utterly horrible substitute teacher in PE who made those of us without our gear sit on the stage, and then shouted at us if we sat near each other or tried anything, anything at all, including playing with our hoelaces, to occupy our time. It turned out later that she was having a minor nervous breakdown at the time because her husband was leaving her and trying to take the kid with him. Man, I hated high school.

Actually, Ghosts of Mars was one of those films that was pretty cool. I think the background that John stashed in there, unfortunately, was too subtle for some folks. *shugs* Give it a go - it's fun to watch at the very least.

Well, it certainly looks fun, and our lecturer does recommend it. ... On the other hand, he does have a wholly unreasonable adoration for Down With Love. Hrm. I'll rent it anyway!
