1. The night Fiora was born was a rainy night. Amidst the crashing thunder were the cries of a woman. The nurse woman wiped the blood from the child, and handed the oddly silent child to the mother. The blue haired woman took one look at the child’s stoic sleeping face, and gave a smile.
2. In stark contrast, it was the middle of a sunny day when Farina came into the world. Fiora watched with a frightened expression as a small bloody figure game from her mother in a disturbing fashion. As her mother held the child, she called Fiora to her side, whispering to Fiora how she must care for this child, as if she was her own daughter. Fiora gave a serious nod, and her mother a sad smile.
3. Florina was born on a snowy night. Farina hadn’t even wanted to come, because it was so cold in the hospital. Fiora had insisted, and Farina grudgingly agreed, and made a big show of bringing five blankets. Florina came to the world crying. Their mother sent the two older siblings a look. Fiora understood perfectly, Farina was too busy being cold.
4. Once Florina was playing with her dolls. Farina came in and told her how stupid those dolls were, and how Mom could barely afford food, let alone doll clothing. Florina started crying, but didn’t say anything. Farina felt a little sorry, but tried to ignore it. She never noticed that Florina never played with dolls again.
5. Surprisingly, Farina was the only one of the three that liked her vegetables. Florina hated most of them for the bitter taste, while Fiora never really had a reason. Dinner was the only time she would ever refuse her mother.
6. When they were little, Fiora would often try to get the other two to play games together. The only one that they would all have fun with would be Hide and Go Seek. Farina loved anything competitive, Florina loved the lack of pressure if she hid well, and Fiora loved nothing more then to see her little sisters happy faces.
7. The day Florina asked the classic question had been an odd one. Fiora had blushed madly, and remembered she had super important Pegasus Knight training to do. An hour later, a very confused Florina left Farina’s room crying her head off. When her mother asked what was wrong, Florina hiccupped that she didn’t want to go away, and for mommy please not to send her back by mail. Farina was grounded for a week.
8. On the way home from school, Fiora found a small kitten. When she brought it home, she wanted to name it Valor. Farina liked the name Richy Paws. In the end, Florina was allergic to the small kitten, and she was given away to their neighbor.
9. Farina and Fiora were both out at school on a particularly cold day in the fall. Florina had been baking cookies with her mother, when two drunken men had barged into the house, and accidentally shot her mother. The two sisters came home to find the three year old child crying over their mothers white body. She had never trusted men since.
10. That night, the three girls had all tried to sleep as if nothing happened. They would just wait for a week until papa came home. They all ended up sleeping together.
11. Florina liked it when they were all together. She would sleep in the middle of their parent’s bed, and with Farina and Fiora flanking her, she never felt safer. This still didn’t stop her from having dreams that would wake the other two with her tearful wails. She never had a full nights rest for two years.
12. Their father died two years later, but by then, the three were so used to living together, it seemed like nothing was different.
13. Florina’s first day at the Pegasus knight academy was a stressful one for Fiora. This was they day girls were tested if they were compatible with pegasai, and she hoped with all her heart she wouldn't pass. If she lost her baby sister as well in a mission some day…
14. Florina passed with flying colors, and Fiora didn't sleep that night. Instead, with eyes closed she imagine horrific moment after moment, all leading to her baby sisters death. She renewed her vow to protect her that night.
15. Once, Farina brought home a bullfrog, and slipped it in Florina’s bed. She had awoken squealing and ran around the two’s shared bedroom. Fiora came charging in, lance in hand. They both watched their sister brandish a lance that was far too large for her, only to get it stuck in the floor and trip. They laughed so hard, the frog was forgotten.
16. One year, Farina deemed that they had raised enough money to go to the festival. Because knight school was held with all girls, this was the first time they discovered Florina’s manaphobic ways. They went home early.
17. Farina’s first crush had been a boy named Ronald Winstone. The two of them would always tease echother mercilessly. The only problem was, she pushed it to far once, and sent the poor boy home crying. He never talked to her after that.
18. The other two, never had childhood crushes. Fiora thought boys were a waste of time, and Florina was scared stiff.
19. One night, Farina game home with gold she had won through gambling. She thought Fiora would be as ecstatic as she was. All she found was a very very angry older sister. She screamed at the top of her lungs, all her anger, fear, and love for her sister pouring from her heart. Farina screamed right back at how Fiora could never be like her mother, and that she hated this family, because they were dirt poor. She told Fiora she should be groveling to her for having enough money to put food in their mouths. Fiora screamed right back that she was money obsessed, and she had no sense of honor and duty. She finished by saying that she hated the girl. Farina stared at her sister as if she had been slapped, and walked out the door. They didn’t see each other for seven years.
20. Fiora walked up that stairs to find a sobbing Florina. She mumbled apologies for not being stronger, for not being able to keep Farina from leaving. Tired and not in the mood to comfort anyone, Fiora walked to her room. Florina ran out the door, saddled Huey, and set off to prove something. The next day, when she awoke to an empty house, was the first day Fiora ever cried.
