Oh, my homophobia poll.

One last update on my homophobia among straight men poll. (Hi, waterofthemoon!) It's finally drifted off the front page of the forum, after three pages of discussion, so I think I can safely say that the poll is closed.

A total of 319 people participated. I cannot actually verify that all of them were straight men. People on this particular forum tend to be lean leftwards. This is not a scientific poll. At least two people reported accidentally clicking the wrong button. Link to poll and discussion.

The question was aimed at straight men: Are you uncomfortable around gay men?

Yes, and I think my reaction is typical of straight men._______32________10.03%
Yes, and I think my reaction is not typical of straight men._____9_________2.82%
No, and I think my reaction is typical of straight men.________144_______45.14%
No, and I think my reaction is not typical of straight men.____134_______42.01%

The most interesting finding, imho, is that while 87.15% of respondents say they are not uncomfortable around gay men, 52.04% say that they think most straight men are uncomfortable around gay men. I am not sure if it's the liberal leanings of the respondents that's skewing the data in this way, or if these straight men are underestimating their peers.
