People all have some ideal of how things should be, how life should pan out, a game plan and expectations and hopes.
Life, on the other hand, is an agent of anarchy and chaos. It is unruly and untameable, violent and irresistable. It flies in the face of all the best laid plans. And it always wins.
Reality will crush your expectations and snuff out all your hope. Ideals will be shattered and people are left simply with the hard message that that's life.
And then, in following with all the axioms of wisdom and didactic parental rhetoric, people expect to pick themselves up, knuckle down, keep calm and carry on. And so they rebuild their lives, return to a state of normalcy - all according to plan - and they rekindle their hopes and dreams. Their ideals.
And life runs them over again. And again they pick themselves up obediently, as it's what they've come to expect from themselves.
Rinse and repeat.
Life is just a series of vicious cycles designed, seemingly, for the sole purpose of kicking people over and over again.
But, you can call it what you want. Life could just maybe be glorious and going according to plan for you. What do I know, right? I'm just a cynical bastard whose lost the taste for life and complains all day long.
