I got around to downloading Daybreakers last night. I have a horrible weakness for shiny populist action scifi, so I'm not really qualified to seriously critique the plot, but one thing happened which was really interesting.

Attempting to watch a SRS PARANORMAL DRAMA on S4C? Always funny. This may be slightly (OK, very) racist, but everything sounds funnier in welsh. I have no idea what I was watching this evening, but it was hilarious. With really cheap effects.

I didn't watch the Obama inauguration because a) I am allergic to politics of the ceremonial, pointless kind and b) the time zone thing made it confusing. But anyway. My brother and sister like this canadian 'reality show' called Total Drama Island. The inverted commas are there because it's in fact animated - so I would guess that they're making fun of the genre a bit, and the end results are kind of fixed.

A giant fucking meteor has hit somewhere vaguely around the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. The whole sky lit up for most of those two provinces, at night.

...and I'm in the wrong country to have seen it. *throws tomatoes at immigration* BUT IT LOOKS COOL ANYWAY.
