should have seen that one coming
I didn't watch the Obama inauguration because a) I am allergic to politics of the ceremonial, pointless kind and b) the time zone thing made it confusing. But anyway. Someone was explaining about the BBC broadcast of it the other day, and apparently their reporter was very conspiciously looking for a black person in the crowd to talk to. Yeah. And most of the people nearby, regardless of race, were acting kind of rowdy as one does when they can see a tv camera around. He did eventually settle on these two ladies who looked like nice upstanding citizens, and asked if they'd travelled very far for the event.
Why, yes, they had. All the way from Canada.
That kind of made my day.
