    There is an excursion thing run by the program for us California kids. It involves a medieval castle, or something to that effect, but I'm still not quite clear on the details.   • I learned a new word.

    I was listening to The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" and I realized I didn't know what "haver" means. My friend said it sounded like to vomit, as in, "He havered all over the bathroom floor." Of course, that makes no sense in the context of the song so I looked it up and it's "to hem and haw."     Compared with the last few years, I posted a lot here last month. In the same vein, my study-abroad journal isn't exactly what I envisioned it to be. I guess I'm not observant enough, and also too lazy, to write down funny anecdotes from quotidian life in Bordeaux.     Aside from getting up to eat soup and an orange, I've been in bed all day both drifting in and out of sleep and reading The Maltese Falcon. I haven't been this sick in years and I'm not quite sure how to handle it. My host parents are away for Easter weekend, so at least I don't have to feel bad about not interacting with them at all.
