Shoes shoes shoes

I'm very tired. There are a lot of deep things I would like to write about, but I am so sleepy and so overwhelmed with stuff that I am going to engage in more mindless shoe-posting. Shoes are lighthearted and make me happy.

I've decided to send the Me Too Cage pumps back. I can't get over how bulky the platform is under the arch of the shoe, and I suspect that over time it would bother me more and more. As I got used to the shiny high-heeled hotness of them, their huge flaw would become more important. So back they go.

Here is what I think I will get instead:Me Too Locket. It's a good compromise for now, and a good way to get used to walking in a platform heel again. I love that the platform is hidden (my preference in platform pumps) and that it does not extend under the arch (so the shape of the foot is highlighted, instead of bulk added.) I also love the round toe and the vertical seam at the point of the toe, yum. This is a good for-now shoe I can wear to get close to what I want, until I find/can afford exactly what I want. I've seen shoes that are what I want but they are typically quite expensive.

This shoe will give me more time to get back to ballet and strengthen my ankles before I go for a seriously high shoe. And go I will.

On the other hand, this shoe looks really cute and has a higher, thicker heel. But I think the heel may be set too far back (throwing center of gravity forward, not great for balance or health) and the toe is a bit more pointy than the locket. But is it TOO pointy? I don't know. It also doesn't appear to come in patent, which isn't a deal-breaker. I'm not set on patent, it just seems that many of the shoes I like right now are patent, and patent IS awesome.

Although the platform is visible, I like this Calvin Klein shoe a lot, but I can't seem to find it in my size.

(I literally fell asleep writing this last night. Too many croissants = carb coma?)

I will probably order several pairs of shoes and then decide which one to keep.
