I am really enjoying the comments to
this entry on the "Cook's Source" copyright infringement blowup.
Short form: a for-profit, ad-supported, free circulation magazine is found to have plagiarized an article, previously published online. Author of said article contacts magazine and asks them to apologize publicly and make a donation to Columbia School of Journalism. Magazine editor gets nasty and outrage ensues.
People look further into this and find that the magazine is in fact entirely plagiarized- articles and photos are stolen from many authors, including such big guns as Paula Deen, Martha Stewart, and NPR. Hilarity ensues. As a commenter elsewhere, said, "4chan Incoming." But also, that thieving bitch is going to get seriously DMCAd.
