The cranks... they go round and round

In other news, when I put my Sunny Day bike together, I was in a bit of a rush. So I didn't overhaul the bottom bracket or headset. Well, yesterday I noticed my cranks were really wobbling and desperately needed adjustment.

So this morning I decided to overhaul it.

Balls in a cage? Real Men (TM) use loose balls, don't they?

BTW, I may need to break my Raleigh out of hibernation, now that I've finished Finals.

:-P

I suppose I could have dug out my supply of 1/4" bearings and popped new ones in, but these didn't have any wear on them, I was trying to get my bike ready to work, and I hate to waste anything. Besides as much as I like the 'Nishiki' logoing on the cranks, there is no way I can find the replacement chainrings [1] for the crank once these toast. So longevity isn't really a concern.

So, when do you get your results from your finals? Also, how is the weather shaping up in NoVa for the summer?

[1] The inner BCD is 114, the outer is something > 150. No F'ing Way. Sheldon doesn't even list one as large as this crank has.

Also, how did you like my bicycle cassette clock entry?

I have an old cassette that should probably be reborn as one of those. I wonder if I can find a glass jar about the size of the internal diameter and turn it into an inkwell?
