So, I've picked up a
Nintendo DS[1] from a friend. He'd received it as a gift, but really hadn't used it all. So I received it at a nice price.

He worked part-time at a videogame store this christmas season, and so he and I ended up discussing the merits of the various portable game platforms one night at dinner.
His take on the PSP was that it tried to do too much, and didn't do it well enough, as whole. The big gripes, to him, are the limited battery life and the long load times--but of course, that's what you get when you spin a disk at high rpms.

I'm also a bit annoyed that Call of Duty is Microsoft-only (well, it can run in Cedega, but I'm not sure how I feel about that). In any case I'm not sure a developer will give me the FPS I've always wanted--a CoD clone, but in the Pacific War. Imagine the Great Raid on Cabanatuan, or the liberation of Intramuros, or the fight for Mt. Surabachi in glorious OpenGL. Yeah!
