Of course I remember you, didnt have to mention who you are, how are you? Yes it has been ages!! Still living and working in Norway? What are your plans for this year, still saving to go to Aust or NZ?

Still in Norway yep :P
I'm kinda just beginning to save, since I'm still here. I'm not so good on that saving thing it seems, but now I have my money under control and a budget and know how I'm gonna do it so I plan to leave here by the beginning of fall (around August).
Going to NZ, England and elsewhere :) Gonna meet up with Chloe, finally, and go around. xD

So Maymoy! Tell me! How much money did you bring with you saved and are you working and lalala? I need to know straight up from someone who's actually doing it :)

I agree, it was really hard to save up the money. For me, I had to give up some things like shopping, going out a lot and just spending money when I needed it, like bills and food. It was hard but all I thought about was the trip I was taking and made it easier to put my money together.

I worked a 7 day week doing 2 jobs for 5 months, I was able to save up in total over AUD$20k but I know that will go quickly. The Australian dollar isn't a strong currency so with you earning the Euro (Norway is on the Euro, yes?) your money will go further. I will try to find work in Canada to fund my travels so hopefully I will be able to make it to central and South America.

Wow NZ, that is a long, long way from home! I haven't been there myself, but it's supposed it be really beautiful, hoping to go there one day.

It's so nice to hear from you ! Sounds like you're having lots of fun travelling, I'm so happy for you, you are incredibly lucky to have the chance to see the world like that (and yeah, of course it's a lot better than sitting in front of the computer!). Have fun with the rest of your trip, and I can't wait to hear all about the places you've seen. Take care !

*hugs*

I am having a great time, it sure beats working and school lol! I will try to see as much as I can, and want to travel as long as I can - until I run out of money, of course! I have a work permit for Canada and plan to stay in Toronto for 3 months (travelling around eastern Canada for two weeks as well) and then after that, what happens is anyone's guess.

What about yourself, still planning to work and travel overseas (you wanted to come to Australia, right?)

Yeah travelling is a lot better than school or working that's for sure, lol !

It's great that you're coming to Canada, I hope you'll love it there (Canadian are usually very nice too, :) ). Have you find a job in Toronto yet or you're waiting to see once you'll be there ? So after Canada you don't know if you'll go back home or continue travelling ? That's cool though, sometimes it's good to not have a plan and just see what happens, it makes it more interesting. :) Have I mention how jealous I am ? lol

Working overseas I don't know, but yeah still planning to travel. This summer I'm going to South Carolina in the US for a little bit more than a week, and then I'm thinking of joining a friend in her trip to California for 10 to 12 days. Australia is still in my plan too, I have a friend from work who really wants to go as well, so maybe next winter (well winter here, which mean January) I'll finally go to Australia for a few months. I really have to stop talking about it and just do it already !

I have met some Canadians (they sure are travellers!) and they have been nothing but extra friendly. The Canadian's I met even offered me a place to stay when I come over - and I've only known them for 15 minutes lol! Met people from Montreal, Vancouver, BC etc.

No job in Toronto yet, will do the job hunting when I get there. Just a bad time at the moment with the economy but hoping to find any temp office admin work. Not sure what happens after Canada, depends whether or not I can find work, the working Visa is valid for 2 years, and if I like it there, I might stay the full 2 years. If I get desperate, I will head to Whistler where many of the Aussies are lol.

Yes, you should do it and do a working holiday, I am having no regrets, do it while you are young before settling down :)

Thank you for that, I am having a great time, apart from yesterday where I kinda got scammed by a cyclo driver (who wouldn't take me to one place, saying it was closed, when really he couldn't travel there becaue of the rough roads - but that is another story!) and had a small lizard in my hotel room which I was scared to catch and eventually left it there after trying to catch it for over an hour!

Apparently I have been told that it is actually a gecko and not dangerous at all, in fact they eat all the bugs so it's a good thing I guess :D
