First, hi! Got to your journal via an old thread in tacit's journal- I just had to visit the journal of someone with the username zotmeister. So that's why I'm reading 2 years later.

And to ask how the video game tournament was. That sounds so cool, and I find it especially cool cause in college I wrote a short story set in the not-that-distant future which mentioned classic video game tournaments at the Olympics. That may or may not be a stretch but I smile every time I hear about an event like this, and I really would love to go to one at least once - or just hear about it from someone who has.

It sounds like this is an annual thing though so I may have to check it out - and go some year if possible. I hope you had lots of fun!

Hi! Glad you like my username - I wish it were more unique, but it serves my purposes nicely. I've been busy with all sorts of things, such as the MIT Mystery Hunt (which takes a year to prepare for and just ended last weekend), so that's why I'm replying six months late. :)

The Funspot tournament is fantastic fun every time. It is an annual thing - I'm one of only three who have entered it EVERY year - and it seems to keep getting bigger and better. If you'd like to see around inside Funspot a bit and don't mind some occasional extreme dorkitude (some of which I'm personally responsible for...), watch The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, much of which was filmed there. - ZM
