I know this makes me sound like my parents ...

... but what the hell. A dear friend sent this to me and I had to laugh, and agree. And to all my friends who were born in the 80's - no offense intended.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN before the 80's! )

This really struck a chord with me. My oldest was born in 1986.

I loved it and completely agree. I was born in 1985, but my parents raised me like they were raised: Kids have survived eating dirt and playing in the rain for centuries. I see parents today that chase their kid down to wash their hands if they touch anything during snack time, or not letting them outside when it's cold. I just don't get it. There are people in the world that live to old age, and don't even know what anti-bacterial soap is! I hope to have kids like the ones talked about above.

I was born in 1984, but fortunately I still grew up like this (and wished most children still did). Loved it, thanks for sharing!

My son was born in '75 & my daughter in '76. I have an 11 year old granddaughter and a grandson who is 6 months old.

When I look at the things that are considered necessary to raise children today, I wonder how I or my children ever survived to adulthood:)
