My mood right now is strong feelings of apathy. I went to sleep at 8 last night, due to sheer "I don't feel like doing anything/nothing seems really doable/oh, and incidentally I've been getting only 5 hours of sleep each night for the past week and a half and that really doesn't work for me". My advice for doing the essays: Just pick one, only one, on which to focus, and start typing away. If there are multiple criteria, such as goals and interests and stuff, try to consolidate each by paragraph. That way, if you have another essay that asks for background and interests, you can use the "interests" part of the first essay and copy-paste it in. Once you get one essay written, you will feel so good about yourself that the rest will just fall in line. It works, I promise!

I agree -- Seasonal Affective Disorder is the story of my life in New England.

Yeah, I tend to see < huge chunk of work > and go "aaah can't possibly do this, I quit". I've been trying to tackle stuff individually... I guess it works slightly better, although I'm still afraid of the rest.

Yes, use subgoals and you will be able to get through at least part of the work! And once you've eaten away at the edges, what's in the middle seems less and less imposing.
