Ugh, I feel terrible. I woke up in the pre-dawn hours feeling terrible, and because it took a while to get back to sleep, didn't get up until almost noon. I'd had thoughts of leaving the apartment today to go read somewhere sunny, but I suspect I will feel worse outside. This blows. Stupid trees

After almost four years, I still don't feel like I "know" the area well enough to be super-useful. I know there's, like, "patches" that are not so good, like certain areas of Sunnyvale (while others are great!) and East Palo Alto. You might want to ask on sfbayarea - the natives may be more helpful.
