The Hammond thing made me squee out loud. Especially that it wasn't just a throw-away shout out but an actual meta eulogy. John never even MET Real!Hammond but still knew he was awesome.
I also squeed for Davis, but of course my immediate response after the squee was: wait, he still hasn't made Lieutenant Colonel? Isn't this like his ELEVENTH YEAR?
I feel like this episode was 100% Atlantis, for good or ill: Slapdash story construction with heavy use of the Random Plot Point Grab Bag, offset by pretty boys, pretty visuals, bigass guns and the occasional moment of awesome (and also Todd). I just wish they'd left Keller and Banks out, but, eh, it's the finale. They kind of had to.
The Hammond thing was really well done. I was impressed.
Poor Major Davis, but he's just going to keep doing the best darn job he can from the middle! ;-)
Atlantis was what it was, and we could never expect much more out of it. They could've done a lot worse by their standards with the finale, so I'm just glad for that.
I actually wonder if perhaps Davis isn't the victim of the Dilbert Principle. "Well, we'd love to promote you, but then we'd have to reassign you and no one else is smart enough to do your job."
I finally watched Vegas & the Last Ep tonight. Yay, Sam!
Does this mean that Ellis is going to be The Man In Charge on Stargate Universe? Or is that going to be about a different lost ship? 'Cause I *really* don't like Ellis.
