I am curious to see what you think of Crucible of Gold when you are done.
Generally, I enjoyed reading most of the Temeraire series; however, I did not like the last one, Tongues of Serpents, much at all so now I am wary about the next one and have been waiting to see what friends who do read it, think about it. :)
I suppose it depends on what you disliked about the last one, but I thought Crucible was an improvement because it got back to the more central storyline. I finished it and then flipped back to the beginning of the series to start them all again.
From what I remember, with the last one, it felt like we were wandering around forever through Australia and not really getting anywhere. When they finally got to where they were going, it felt a little anticlimactic.
That sounds promising that it got back to the more central storyline, which I did miss from the last one. :) I will probably read this eventually, once I get through some more books of my current to read list. So thanks for your thoughts!
