I'm off to Chicago for a long weekend with hermorrine, so I'll be offline for the next 5 days or so. Due to the restriction brought on by not actually paying for my flights, I'll be taking a less optimal route than usual. This involves me getting up in about six hours time to do a whistlestop tour of no less than four airports (LHR--JFK--LGA--ORD), but hey ( Read more... )

Not paying for your flights? Are you burning up miles aplenty, or is this a part-business trip?

That would be 60,000 AAdvantage miles, yes. Plus taxes, of course.

Make sure that on your transfer from JFK to LGA, the taxi driver doesn't take you via Manhattan. It may well make the journey more scenic, but it will be much longer and much dearer. Take this from one who knows from bitter experience. I think that the non-English speaking driver knew the way from JFK to downtown and from downtown to LGA but not from JFK to LGA direct. Of course, I could be wrong...

I avoided the Taxi problem altogether - there's a direct shuttle bus. $13 and 20 minutes!

Very random idle silly thought: if you wanted to do something to help the Lib Dems, but not to the extent of being a councillor, would you have any interest in running a pro-Evan Harris blog? Just idly kicking around the idea after reading more of http://www.bloggerheads.com/ recently!
