It is really great for me to be hearing that the Doctor Who that I loved when I was your age is having the same effect on you. When I first started watching it, I thought that having different actors playing the character would be ridiculous, but as it turned out, I had the same reaction you're enjoying - each one was a new adventure, and yet familiar.

I am so far behind now - and not just on Doctor Who! - that I'll never be able to converse knowledgeably with you when I do start watching again. :(

I wish you had time to watch! We'd have such a good time discussing all these things. No one except you is willing to have in-depth discussions about things with me. I've seen all the episodes two or three times, so if you ever do get to start catching up, I'm in!
