My conversations with my coworker Ali often give me food for thought. A couple days ago, we were discussing a variety of things, like Buffy, Angel, Harry Potter. . .you know, things. Somehow, we ended up talking about Scientology (can’t quite recall how we got there!) , and what a nutty little cult it is.

...the thing with islam is that already the children are getting infused with all the hate and so they never think for themself as they don't have to *they do what they were taught or what was said to them without thinking.* Me, I was christined and was meant to become a devout catholic *I went to a catholic highschool*, but as I matured I became more and more unhappy with what this religion thinks about many things and I couldn't stay in the church anymore. But alas it doesn't matter as I know what is right and what is wrong because christianity as peaceful religion taught me not to hate.
I may not be in any religion but I cannot imagine myself being atheist... I'm quite interested what will Ali tell you next...

One of the important differences in your life, I think, from that of the average Muslim, is that there is no teaching in Christianity to kill apostates. As someone raised Catholic, you had the freedom to have that upbringing, to disagree with certain beliefs or teachings and, when they got sufficiently numerous, to decide to leave and ponder things a bit more ( ... )
