[For Bats, with apologies to Pseudo-Dionysius. . .]

My Unknowing's growing greater
(Or is it lesser?) Day by day
Language leaves me faster
As my thoughts all fade away
My eyes are growing useless
Any day now I'll be blind
I am striding through the darkness
Half afraid of what I'll find

But I'm no one, no one at all
I've only got, no where to fall
A barren valley wasteland
echoes trumpets from afar
And empty space I Am,
waiting for a star

The confusion that You graced to me
is pouring in a flood
It's soaking through my bones and
it's replacing all my blood
all my thoughts and dreams and knowledge
washed away now, look, they're gone
just an empty plain of dirt and stones
clings to a hope of dawn

Still I'm no one, no one at all
I've only got, no where to fall
A barren valley wasteland
torn from long-forgotten war
an empty space I Am
waiting for a star

All the colors disappear now
all the sound has gone away
All my thoughts are shattered
and there's nothing left to say
All my efforts at control
are now proved to be in vain
and You've shown too clearly, I must
Unlearn everything again

Cuz I'm no one, no one at all
Means I've only got, no where to fall
A room without a light beyond
the door You left ajar
An empty space I Am
waiting for a star

I'm no one. . .

[Like the Young Weaver's Song,  this came words and melody at once. . . too bad I suck with a guitar, this is actually a pretty upbeat, fast paced song. .  major key, too . . .]

poetical-like
