I have passed a very pleasurable day today. I had the foresight to take a day off for post-NaNo recovery, and BOY am I glad I did. I barely slept last night, as I was up till late carousing and then did not sleep very well - I think there was still too much adrenalin in my system! Today I woke up at eight but them dossed around reading fic and fell ( Read more... )

This was interesting and really different. Wasn't sure at first but I had to keep reading each stage of the study and now the ending is definitly playing on my mind making me wonder if you're tying the study into the deveolpment of the Pax on Miranda, into River and the academy or something comepletely different that's not seen coming.

Not sure what the hexagrams of the I-ching are but I'm intruiged to read the next ones as you bring them out. *hugs*

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. The whole style of this fic is a major departure for me and I was not really sure whether it would work. It's good to know it held your interest.

I intended it to shed some light on the Pax incident, and on the psychology of the Reavers, but also on that whole mentality.

The I-Ching, or Book of Changes, is a kind of meditative handbook. It's often used to tell fortunes, but it's actually supposed to be more about giving you ideas about the right life. I do not know a huge amount about it, but the names of the different hexagrams gave me lots of ideas for fic, so I thought I'd use it as a basis for a series.

Ohh! Very interesting. When we read that three subjects didn't become lethargic I guessed we were reading about the earliest signs of to-become-reavers.

Very nice style and a great concept. I'm looking forward to more!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it - it was quite different from anything else I've written and I was not sure if it would come off OK. I'm pleased the signs of Reaver-dom came through!

This was very interesting. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of this series, especially if you continue them along these lines (things that happened in the background to make the 'Verse the place it is).

Thanks! I'm glad that it came across well - I was a bit nervous trying this out, as it's a new approach for me.

Given the shape of Firefly fandom, it takes guts to present a story that doesn't even mention the Big Damn Heroes. My hat is off to you!

Fascinating approach. I like the historical perspective on the development of the Alliance drug programs... Will be curiously waiting for the next installment...
