My first proper festival! I was a bit nervous, even though I was staying in the four star Holiday Inn in Stevenage rather than camping, but I had a really good time, although it was pretty tiring being in a field with 50,000 people for three days. The festival was very well organised, even the chemical toilets were ok and never ran out of toilet ( Read more... )

curious, what did Placebo's fans do?

I watched a DVD with a live Cult track on it the other day and wasn't impressed with his stage patter either, still, I'd love to see them live as I never got around to it when I was younger.

Jumped around a lot, barging into people, got up on each other's shoulders, smoked, shouted a lot. Just weren't very aware of there being other people around them.

I saw the Cult in 1987 and don't remember him being that big an idiot then, but of course he wasn't as famous then.

'It was interesting that the camera operators were clearly not used to metal gigs, as there was a bit of a tendency to focus on the singers unless there was actually a guitar solo going on.'

Or indeed, no inclination to focus on a male singer when there was a woman on stage. Cristina Scabbia was on the screens so much that it almost looked like an obsession. There are actually other members of Lacuna Coil!

It was good to see you, albeit briefly!

Hah! I didn't see Lacuna Coil, but I'm not surprised!

Yes, you too!

Ha! Basically, there was no video coverage of the rest of the band at all - even when she wasn't singing and Andrea Ferro was singing - we still didn't see him! Very, very odd.
