Someone talk about this list with me, because I think it's going to give me an aneurysm. It's Entertainment Weekly, so. I don't know. I guess that makes it representative of the popular reader, but god. That makes me sad.
I mean I'm all for pop lit. (assuming it's GOOD!) I like to think I'm not as much a book snob as I am a music snob, especially considering I'll read basically anything.
But there were seriously only 3 or 4 books on this entire damn list that I have either read or MAY HOWEVER SLIGHTLY CONSIDER reading one day. That's beyond sad. I don't think there's even words anymore....
Well, there are some great books mixed in there with a lot of real poo. Have you read anything by Haruki Murakami? I know you're not big on fiction, but he's great. As is David Foster Wallace.
That being said -- HARRY POTTER IS NUMBER TWO? What is the matter with people?
I wonder how many of those books people would never claim to have read if it wasn't for Oprah?
I'm glad to see a graphic novel made the top twenty.
