"Finding is not thieving." And as they halted at the gate, where Hugh's horse was tethered, Cadfael said seriously: "Donata understood him better than any of us. She told him his fortune, lightly it may be, but wisely. A troubadour, she said, needs three things, and three things only. An instrument, a horse, and a ladylove. The first she gave him, ( Read more... )

I love hearing what you have to say about the show this season, and I really agree with you. After hearing about Andrea's character from the comics I am SO PISSED at what they've done to her in the show. Her character is incredibly annoying and it sucks that she could have been so much more than that. I HATE SHANE WITH A FIERY PASSION. Dale, Rick and everyone else just want to live out a peaceful existence on the farm. Why do you have to go and fuck it up, Shane? I really hope that Carl shoots him like you said he does in the comics. Speaking of which, I really need to get a copy of those things. Comics, why you so expensive?

The Andrea assassination is something I may never forgive this show for. Blergh. But I will legit send a love letter to the writers if they end the season with Carl shooting Shane. JUST DO IT, UNIVERSE. PLEASE.

And yeah, the comics are waaaay too expensive. I have a hardcover of the first seven or so issues, but the rest of it I had to read at work during breaks because there's no way I can afford those suckers. Vol. 15 JUST came in last week and I read it in a dead run because HOLY SHIT the way Vol. 14 ended was BRUTAL BEYOND REASON. And then 15 was a lot happier than I thought it would be and had a HUGE SURPRISE for an ending. Ah ah ah these comics are soooo brill. Though there's a shit ton in them that could NEVER be put into an AMC show. Pretty sure they won't do anything re: the Governor just because that shit is straight out HBO or Showtime quality horror. AH.

Some may say that Shane is just being pragmatic and realistic...

I saw a lot of that on forums and FB after the episode where he shot Otis to escape. Isn't very reassuring when wondering how many people would turn out to be cut-throats in a real apocalypse scenario. I'm a firm believer in the idea that humanity as a state of mind has an extremely short lifespan after the lights go out.

I didn't have time to get too overly frustrated with the long-ass search for SophiaI heard a lot of people complaining about that as well - it didn't really bother me because the whole time I was praying that they would find her just because I think the comic book relationship between her and Carl is super cute. Her death in the finale took me completely by surprise. I was all like "HOLY SHIT!!!" and my girlfriend was like, "well, duh." I was more frustrated by the amount of time Lori and Rick spent complaining about their situation while on the farm. I mean, obviously people are going to take the time to lament their lot in such a scenario, but ( ... )

Call me naive then, but I think it's important to hold onto humanity in such dire situations. I'd like to think I could be a lot like Rick in the apocalypse: someone who at times has to make brutal decisions, but never immediately abandons (or even directly kills) a friend to save my own skin.

Yeah, I'm quite sad that Sophia's dead now, since I liked her relationship with Carl and how she gets adopted by Glenn and Maggie in the comics. But that sure as hell was a killer way to split the season off.

...! Who the hell could those dudes be?!
