Go the Fuck to the Library is my new favorite thing. I am very filled with library love as of late, especially since I now live two blocks from one. And it has a substantial graphic novels section! Hurry the fuck up, person reading "Y: The Last Man" ahead of me!

And the Seussian Lovecraft is awesome. Gah, I still need to read the original though. Guess I should Go the Fuck to the Library. Ahahaha!

And thanks for the rec, mon capitaine!

ABSOLUTELY. And boy, I'm trying to write a steamy sex scene between Bellerophon (Matt Smith) and Pandora (Karen Gillan) and I can't help but think that you'd do it far more justice. I just have so much difficulty describing sexy acts without getting too self-conscious or prudish. DAMN MY STRICT MORAL UPBRINGING!

Ah, but I couldn't write those two at all, because I have to ingest ridiculous amounts of canon before I feel at all comfortable "in voice."

Also, Colleen and/or I have mentioned that freshman year of high school I was too embarrassed to even say the word "prostitute," right? 'Cause I was. And I think it's only been in the last couple of years that I've become almost completely comfortable with writing sex scenes. I just had to keep pushing myself to do it, again and again and again, until it wasn't embarrassing or scary anymore.

OH MAN, I know what you mean about knowing the canon in and out before you can really write for it. Hence why I pretty much just write fic for DW and nothing else.

And I had not heard that! But it's strangely reassuring -- and you've certainly overcome that, AND HOW. :D
