Right, 7 weeks ago I joined an lgbt swim team. I started in the beginners group, no one there is really a beginner we could all swim but have been taught to swim proper with breathing and everything. Next week I move up to the improvers group. To be a proper member you have to be able to swim for an hour comfortably. I am quite far from this ( Read more... )

Nick this is amazing, both your swimming achievements and your blogging activity.

All your swimming love is making me feel brave. I just got paid today and I'm gonna get my swimming costume and find some lessons. 2010 is the year I learn how to swim.

Thanks for the post's of support. 50m pool CC, that must be pretty daunting. Holly we need to get you swimming by the middle of summer then I would love to take you to Brighton for a dip in the sea!

Brilliant! You have inspired me to go down to London Fields today. I'm completely out of the habit of swimming, but I love it. I used to swim at Kings Hall 3 times away from 6-7am, and it was amazing how you get to know all of the other swimmers. There was an amazing old black lady who who swam at about half a mile and hour, and she used to tell me off if I said good morning to her husband before I said good morning to her. She'd say 'You're my pool friend not his!'
