Self restraint
Aerospace mixer was tonight at the Brown Jug. Free food, and soda tempted aerospace moles out of computer labs to finally mingle and get to know each other. While everyone around me was drinking heavily I restrained myself. I say that I don't need to drink to have a good time and I wanted to prove to myself that I could practice what I preach. Ah...summer
I love riding my bike, and the weather, and the smell in the air....wait, it smells like summer. WTF?! Last time I checked it was Pi day (mid March), which means we should have a couple feet of snow as the weather should be recovering from the stone-cold bitch slap that is February. do you know what the best sound is?
When I've had a lot to drink and I'm tired and I've been up for far too long and I laugh, then sigh. When I sigh it's at the very back of my throguht, a sigh that comes right from the voice box. Biking home today, navigating around slow ass people, approaching an intersection. Blinking hand in front of me turns to solid hand so I break to turn left and my awesome biking prowess kicks into full gear for all to behold. An Outrage?
Currently I'm rereading "The Way Things Work" by David Macaulay. It is an abundantly illustrated children's book meant to explain how things work in simple terms, or should I say basic mechanics. Not a very enlightening reread (in fact I've found many places where the book is mistaken) but still fun at times and always nostalgic, but there is one ( Read more... ) -
Creepy
Alone in the apartment tonight, and my usually loud upstairs neighbors have decided to be quiet tonight. I'm reading, so everything is quiet. I laugh and it is the creepiest thing I've ever heard, even the sound of typing is unsettling.
