Right after I pulled into the Toyota service center I heard what sounded suspiciously like the Good Eats theme, albeit tinkly and tinny. Notice how I take the bus everywhere these days (although admittedly given the crowds on the bus somedays it's not much better).

Living in this country is hollowing out my soul at times.

I agree with returnoftheblog, this country makes me feel hollow and soulless sometimes yet I'm helpless to do anything about it.

I've never understood American ideals of beauty. To tell ya the truth, I resent the notion that I'm not attractive unless I'm a 6'6" brick with no flexibility and an inability to fit into tight spaces.

I'm slim, but I'm built like a rope. Greek, as it were.

I also don't get where people get obsessed with tans.
