Sickness, Minty Dogs And Lagging Pomp And Circumstance

Today I get to go to the doctor so I can be prescribed antibiotics because it seems that two months is just not long enough for my body to throw off this bout of bronchitis.  I am not happy about this in the slightest bit, because by doing this it means admitting defeat.  Being the impossibly stubborn Capricorn that I am (a redundant statement if ( Read more... )

Hmmmm, a spray bottle of water and Scope you say? I may have to try that one. Also, have you tried giving them doggie mints? Those sometimes work depending on how bad the problem is and what is causing it. If they have rotting teeth, well, there's not much that can be done for that besides pulling them out. Also, a good grooming visit could help with the BO, although I know that can get a bit pricey.

It works wonders. As for the breath, they simply refuse to have anything to do--voluntarily--with anything that has mint in it or might freshen their breath, so we've started using Petkin's Liquid Oral Care in their water. They drink it only because they have to (as they still prefer the glop-water in the pool due to the fact they are painfully stupid animals) and the Spritzer Bottle Of Doom signals low-slung tails, slow walks away from me and a droopy expression as I hose them down. Sometimes, I even whistle as I work :)

Lady Jade is just happy that I don't refer to them as "those disgusting mammals" any more and now call them "the Doublemint dogs." It's a definite improvement.
