I am so bad at consistently blogging! In reverse order:
I'm going to Madrid! At least, our home away from home base will be in Madrid, which is where my dad is. He is a high ranking American diplomat who is giving us the run of the guest house. We've got a trip to Granada planned and we might run off to Paris for a couple of days; idk. I've been to much of Latin America and parts of China, but never Europe, so I am super excited. Also, I get to see my daaaad.
I keep on meaning to actually post about it, especially so I can credit my excellent and most amazing cover artist (poto-heart!) and stuff, but, uh. I manage to log in so rarely that it seems self indulgent and shit. But I'm about to take a month off work, so I think I can hang out on the internet more.
I was in Madrid in 2000, stayed at a student hostel. It was December and bitterly, bitterly cold. I'd just come from Barcelona, which has a much more temperate winter climate, so it was a shock to my system. I still have a poster from the Thyssen-Bornemizma (spelling?) art museum. You should go, it's amazing. Way better exhibits than the Prado, in my humble opinion.
I bet you guys will have a ton of fun. And you'll get to hang out with your dad too.
Congrats on your book doing so well and also on going to Spain - ooh, that sounds exciting! Commiserations on your parking ticket though. :( Also, thanks for the link to that article - that girl is awesome. That was a really interesting read.
Life summary? Erm...sewing, sewing, Doll Market, sewing, work, making icecream, watching too much tv, going HOLY FUCK THERE ARE KANGAROOS NEAR MY HOUSE, sewing, battling spiders, reading huge piles of books, more sewing. Yep, that's about it. :)
