Your icon, while extremely appropriate for Fourth of July splosions, is kind of HILARIOUSLY HORRIBLY WRONG in the context of Japan celebrating America Day. XD;;
America Day is put on by the Americans, and was probably started by the occupying troops after the end of the war. Fireworks and celebrations from the troops for Fourth of July, the Japanese were like okay sure another festival, why not. :) At least that's my guess.
