Today was PERFECT. The weather was glorious even in Hilo, and the whole drive up the Hamakua coast was stunning, sun shining and ocean the deepest, bluest blue. Hapuna was, predictably, hella crowded, but not to a bothersome degree aside from the parking. YES IT IS, FUCK YES, YES IT FUCKING IS! Everybody in my family loves that song... it's my grandma's favorite song ever, my brother used to play it for her on the alto saxophone... I once embarrassed myself when someone walked in on me dancing wildly in the organic chemistry stockroom when it came up on my iPod. XD;

We made puppy-eyes at the band and got them to agree to play "Jump Jive and Wail", and I made a comment to my mother afterward that "Jump Jive and Wail" and "In The Mood" have to be tied with each other for Number One Ultimate Swing Anthem, and then a couple songs later THEY PLAYED IN THE MOOD. *happiness*

I am glad I can pass on some small fraction of the joy. ^_^

I'm here till sunday!

The weather was perfect - Just bright enough it was warm, but not a blasting sun where the sand burnt your feet. The waves were pretty meh for anything but swimming, but it was still nice out!

You know, I'd love to, actually, but I'll have to see what I can swing. I live in Hilo and I work full-time in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and when I'm not working I'm gonna be pretty busy with wedding stuff. If you guys are over in Hilo or Volcano at any point that would be sweet... if not, I have Thursday off from work for the bridal shower, so I could theoretically drive out to Kona after work on Wednesday and do dinner or something.
