Drive-by happiness

It has been remarkably stormy this May and June: frequent thunderstorms, snow on both mountains, and tons of rain. (Apparently it was really dry just until I showed up... this is pretty typical for me and rainy weather. ^_^) But it cleared up a few days ago, and I saw Mauna Kea over the weekend for the first time since I got back, which is ( Read more... )

That all sounds amazing. The way you described the mountains and the sunsets and the stars - I can almost see it. And it sounds so beautiful. JSYK, I'm genuinely jealous, sitting in my poky little room in crappy grey Coventry in the rain. XD

I'm really glad you're enjoying your job! Doing science sounds exciting and brilliant - I'm so happy for you! :) It's great to hear you're doing well.

I'm sorry to make you jealous. ^_^;; But it's not like I could expect people wouldn't be jealous... if I weren't here, I'd be jealous too. ...There are many lovely, fabulous things about England, and I haven't hardly had the chance to see any of them, but... yeahno, sorry, I live in Hawaii. XD; It just really is that beautiful.

OH MY GOD ACTUAL SCIENCE. It's just- I am a scientist, okay, I have an actualfax college degree that freaking says so, biology is what I love, it's what I've been trained in, and it's what I want to do with the rest of my life. Sitting in a cubicle for three years entering data off of claim forms for class action lawsuits and reading a script to people on the phone to provide them with information that they already have SUCKED DONKEY BALLS.

Hey, no, it's fine. I love England (just not the bit I'm in at the moment, ugh, six days until I get to leave this grey hole behind, hooray) and I think it's gorgeous, but yeah. You live in Hawaii. You pretty much win forever. :P I can't beat that!

That is so awesome that you're getting to do what you want to do, finally! Biology was always my favourite science. ;)

Heh, yeah, I saw... didn't comment because... I figured one comment thread at a time was good enough? Traveling and a fellow, thumbs up! And it seems like your job is going as well also. Sweet!

Mark's doing much better now, thank you. He came to work on Friday and spent all day out in the field with us, collecting and processing mamane seeds.

It really has been gorgeous recently, although it's cloudy today. Just as well, I suppose, so I don't cry too much about having to be inside unpacking boxes all day.

SCIENCE! \o/
