Well, I've already overslept and will be quite late for work, so... let's post some nerd spam.

First off, Thor trailer! It has... hmmm... The Black Swan Natalie Portman in it. I am ambivalent. It's going to be released almost exclusively in 3-D. I am annoyed. But it has Idris Elba as Heimdall omg yaaaaay! And Anthony Hopkins is Odin. And I' ( Read more... )

Well, it's...interesting to know that the Batman/Hugo Strange shippers will be coming out in droves if that rumor is true. The...the mind boggles.

...Oh lord I didn't even think of that. *facepalm* I'm already slightly weirded out by the Batman/Joker shippers.

Though I'm SO cracking up at the mental image of people who love Hardy's Hugo Strange digging into the comics to find more of their beloved ship. "Ooooh, this comic is all about Hugo Strange! Awesome! Maybe it will have lots of flirty moments between Bruce and Hugo! *flip flip flip* What--what--WHAT IS THISSSS?" :D

...I've never actually read anything with Strange in it. I only know him by reputation. ...Clearly something needs to be done about this.

Idris Elba certainly is getting around a lot lately. I was thinking I was going to miss him once I finish The Wire, but then there was Luther and now he's just popping up everywhere.

Every time I see a film crew downtown I not-so-secretly wish it was them starting to film Batman. It had better happen before I get fed up and flee the country.

...I should watch The Wire, I guess?

No, you must stay, and lick parts of the set for me! ...Seriously though, Nolan, MAKE BATMAN HAPPEN FASTER. And then make Superman happen. ...FASTER.

Yes! Yes, you should. It's a fantastically well-written show, though it's not something to undertake alone, nor is it something you can watch the first season of without needing subtitles every once in a while (holy Baltimore dialects). Idris plays Stringer Bell who's... just... kind of a sociopath businessman but not what you'd expect from that description at all. There should be a word for being fascinated by and hating something, because that'd be what I feel for Stringer Bell (fascinhate?). It's wonderful.

Lick the set, of course! Why didn't I think of that? (Do you want me to die? They're not building Gotham from scratch here, who knows what's on those buildings.) I do wonder what kind of charges can be levied against someone for licking set pieces and/or cast members, though... I might have to try it. FOR SCIENCE.

Fascinhate! I like it~.

I WOULD DO IT. I WOULD LICK CHICAGO FOR BATMAN. TT_TT

Lol but of course! Anything for science! And Batman!

I wonder if the whole Hugo Strange thing has come about due to the release of a new trailer that is apparently for Arkham City that involves Strange.

Hugo Strange being the villain in the game does seem to be the source of much of the buzz regarding the possibility of his appearance in the movie. My friend posted the trailer early this morning, which is what prompted me to search out the current Nolan News. One article I read said something about someone involved in the movie leaking the Hugo Strange thing, but... I'd say it remains unsubstantiated for now. Still... it's looking fairly likely? Ish?

Fantastic trailer, by the way. Have you seen it? BATMAN PUNCHES A GUY IN THE CROTCH. :DD

I am wishing for a movie involving Arnold Wesker/Ventriloquist. I can see some fascinating possibilities with analysing him in a realistic world environment.

Ooooh, that would be fabulous! ...I don't think we're likely to see him any time soon, at least not as a main villain. Sad.

Yay, I'd found and watched this just before I went to bed last night. Deciding I was too tired to post it I went to bed and planned to post it when I got up. Then I woke up to find you had beat me to the punch. :)

I've read some of the Thor comics, and think it should be a good story. I'm also not sure what I think of them planning on predominantly releasing it in 3-D. I've never been particularly fond of 3-D movies, they hurt my eyes.

Nerd spam > work.

Oh my... I may actually be okay with watching that in 3-D. That was. Oh. My. God. Do want.

I would so very love to see Dr. Strange in the next movie. According to the official Arkham City trailer, he'll be playing a role in that too.

Yeah, I think his appearance in the trailer is a large part of why people think he'll be in the movie, although there was something about someone on the film crew leaking the information. But I dunno how reliable that is.

I did some research about Strange, though, and using the powers of logic I am fairly well convinced this is actually going to happen. To copypasta my thoughts from the above thread with mithen:

"Strange's first comics appearance Post-Crisis was in 'Prey', a storyline early in Batman's career, in which Strange is enlisted to help a police task force capture Batman. We know Nolan likes to borrow from those early foundational Batman stories, and this would work well picking up right where The Dark Knigh leaves off, so I think the odds are leaning heavily in Strange's favor to be the villain of this movie ( ... )
