So. Stuff that's gone on since my last post.

The weekend before last, Dar, James, and I went to CC Slaughters, a nightclub in downtown Portland. A gay nightclub. So I can cross that off of my Lifetime To-Do list.

...It was a very gay nightclub. And it was AMAZING. This is my new favorite place in Portland. We got there at 10 to discover ( Read more... )

Wow, congratulations on your gay-club deflowering! Sounds like you had a blast! I personally LOVE gay clubs. When I lived in Manchester there was this club, wasn't designated gay but had a gay night that was THE place to be. And since like half of the people I used to hang out with back then were gay we were a permanent fixture there (fyi, also straight here). I just love that you can totally let go and know that nobody there will judge you or try to sleazily pick you up. Even though getting chatted up by girls was the risk of the job. Hah, when my sister came with us one time, this girl was so hot for her we had to really gently let her down.

There were all sorts there, drag queens included, the loos were two, technically designated but omg nobody cared which one you went into. There were cute boys having vertical sex on the dance floor. And how is it that gay men are so goddarn fit?! It was a feast for the eyes. It was also fabulous and I miss it like you wouldn't believe ( ... )

Hee hee, yeah, sounds a lot like my experience there. It does feel a lot safer, because you can really let go and be crazy without having a flock of guys trying to get in your pants. There was one guy dancing with me who I think was bi with a preference for girls, but I wasn't really interested and eventually one of his friends dragged him off to dance with him.

But yeah, we had the drag queens, and there were two bathrooms with the following signs: "WOMEN and men who would like to sit" and "MEN and women who would like to stand". And ohhhh yeah the eye candy. There was this one guy who was fucking FABULOUS with how fit and stylish he was... he looked like he was from a boy band or something. XD;

...Yeeeeaaaahhh, well at some point I'll have to get a job or I won't be able to stay here anymore. D:

I'm sure it's totally fine. I think Dar's going to be gone around the 13-14th for the Emerald City Comic Con, but I don't have any plans to go anywhere. And we LOVE having you over, you're totally welcome anytime! <3 <3

...Hmmm, I think Fluffy will be in the States towards the end of that time period, we should try to coordinate with him. I think he had plans to visit Whitman, but he'll have to do that when people aren't in Spring Break, I think... I'll talk to him. ...Also, it's a bit earlier than I was thinking of initially, but assuming you could afford it, would you be interested and jumping out of an airplane with me and a few others?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I'M GONNA NEED IT. T_T

And now I have the story of you being covered in gay. Now I know. So here is my gayest icon.

Ahahahaha that's a good one, actually. ...This cover band joke thing seems a little harder to pull off than really awesome band names, but it's fun! And lol, yeah, the Dick jokes are just too easy. I still love that we_love_dick exists. I mean, there's also we_love_tim and we_love_damian, but for a community that mostly involves a lot of slash fanfic/fanart, we_love_dick is just so freaking appropriate.

I could literally feel it on me. ...Although that might have just been sweat.

I have a lot of very gay icons, it's hard to pick one. But Noel Fielding is pretty much the concentrated essence of Gayness.

Man, you are making me want to go out to a gay club, because that sounds fantastic. But I don't know anyone I could go with. Like, at all. I mean, I could go with Maes-san-(former)clerk, but he'd run off and I'd be all by myself, people-watching. I can't imagine how I would've handled the dirty dancing, though. I either would've died laughing or run away in terror... I think that'd be one of those things someone like me just can't predict without experiencing it.

You need to stop linking to dear_mun because it's just reminding me that there are a lot of random characters I want to lure into the game. (At the top of the heap of my terrible ideas stands a Sam Tyler, just because of the wonderful confusion it'd cause. Mercifully I haven't seen one of those wandering around, and probably won't. (-; Everyone else in the heap would just make the Master's life... challenging, and we all know how much I'd enjoy that ( ... )

It's definitely good to go with a friend or group, so you can kind of protect each other from the insanity. Not that there was anything negative about the experience, everyone was super friendly and nice. You just have to be prepared for some guys who are a bit more... outgoing than others. ...I admit there was a small amount of terror, but it was vastly overshadowed by the hilarity.

I need to link to dear_mun, though, so I can find my threads again if I ever want to read them. And why would I not want you trying to lure people into the game? I need some help here! :D; Oh man, a Sam Tyler would be AMAZING, if only we could find one.

Ahaha, I know the feeling... always trying to make things make sense. You've given yourself an impossible task there, darling. But really, he doesn't hear the drums here? If you've gone with option 2... I wonder what the Master makes of their sudden silence...

OH MY GOD THANKS I NEED IT!!

I think I'll have to wait until I have better footing before I go poking around for people. There's certainly not a shortage of interesting stuff floating around there, though. (Sailor Skaro, for one... which is also where I spotted a Charley Pollard, someone I would've counted as far more unlikely to find around than a Sam Tyler.)

I have no idea. I've gone so long without properly mentioning it that either way it's going to be a jarring thing to get back into his personal canon. Right now I'm thinking, in my personal interpretation of canon (and I'm going to say sorry right now, because this is me needing to write things down in order to think them out), that the drums were entirely a product of the Time War. He'd been dragged out of the matrix (I think, though now I can't figure out whether that was actually said or not), not necessarily a perfect resurrection, and the Time Lords could easily have modified that part of his past. I'm thinking of this from a standpoint that completely disregards The End of Time, though... if ( ... )

LOL. Most of that is completely incomprehensible to me, except the last bit mostly makes sense, so that's good because I think that's the important part? XD; I LIKE IT. It makes as much sense as (or more than) Doctor Who ever does, so good enough.
