... Except for the details you got wrong, which I feel I must compulsively correct.
redtail hawk on the arm of - Ayla was on a ring perch, fool ;D Remember, she was freaking out and bating and sitting on the grass half the time.
Joe, the OFA president - Bob. :p
Wayne-cornering happened after we went out with Curtis; he was out trying to get a merlin while we were standing awkwardly on the lawn, but he drove past as we got back from hunting with Curtis, and then I stopped him once we got back to the meet site, just before he went to try again. He never did get a merlin, wah. He's still trying though.
And yes, Kort (I can't remember his first name for some reason) had a gyr/prairie.
Callan is Ricky's owner. :D btw, we need to email her photos still, I have her email address.
ANYWAY. I love your awesome recap. I've just been a bit too busy to write up a whole thing like this, so I'm glad you did. Yay freaking out the golf dude! We're NEEEENJA like that.
"It was a very pretty drive, of course, with nice shiny close-ups of Mt. Hood, driving through the burning autumn leaves of the Cascades and out the other side into wide open vistas of sagebrush and grass, the plateau sliced by deep river gorges and the horizon ringed with Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, and assorted volcanic buttes." - I love how that sentence progressively shows you're a writer. It starts out normal blog entry style, then gradually gets further and further into poetics.
How many birds were there? Having two deaths within the space of the meet seems pretty tragic.
Heh, I do tend to suddenly and without warning begin to wax poetical. ^_^;; In any case, my memories were just so pretty, the words just had to follow suit.
How many birds, gosh... um... hard to say, since they weren't ever all in the same place at one time, but I would say... 25-50? Probably closer to the 30-40 range. But there were a lot. I mean, this one family showed up hauling a trailer with with 15 birds in it, but that's kind of extreme. Most were individuals or couples showing up with 1-3 birds in the back of a truck.
Awesome weekend sounds AWESOME. :DDDD I'm glad Lauren found a sponsor and that you guys were mistaken for spies, lulz. Well, if it wasn't that it would've been pirates or something. Clearly.

Oh, you're right. Joe was the plumber.
I didn't feel like going into detail about the Wayne/merlin hunting sitch, just assume that what you said is what I meant, only not abbreviated.
...Yeah, that took me like an hour to write. @_@ Didn't really mean it to take that long....
I know, right? He called and told me yesterday. He's getting married on December 20th already.
