The latest spoiler is that the new one will fit one of those categories up there. I won't say more in case you don't want to be spoiled and maybe it won't happen anyway. Personally, I'd think Batman should probably slow down on the sidekicks, and I'm still blinking about the small amount of time that we are now supposed to believe Tim and Dick were each Robin, but there's Word on the Street.

And if one is going to make three posts in two days, you could do a lot worse than it being About Batman, I figure.

...Nope, no, apparently I am all about Batman spoilers and rumors and the like. I WOULD LIKE TO READ THE WORD. WHICH STREET IS IT ON.

Basically, Batman is the best reason to spam LiveJournal. Or, sometimes, the worst. *sob*

Harper Row Street, intersection Scott Snyder.

*sigh in Scott Snyder's general direction* Nothing against the character except she's random and Batman does not purely exist to prop up your new characters... oh, wait.

Argh, I don't even want to think about a new Robin. But ...

While I'm with you on these (I'd really really love another non-white Robin), I think it really depends on the timing. If a new Robin gets introduced too soon while people are still burned about Damian, that Robin will probably be hated on sight by a bunch of people (I surely wouldn't be psyched). And I wouldn't want a female/POC/Gay Robin that everyone dislikes simply because they showed up at the wrong time. And I also think it'll be hard to explain why Batman resumes his partner program after his 11 year old son essentially died on the job (and is like, the 3rd Robin to kick it). Down the line, it'd be cool, of course.

Sorry for the grumpiness, I really am the opposite of excited about DC right now.

Oh man, no, I agree, there should definitely be a proper mourning period, and Robins dying is tricky business because, yeah, I would need to be convinced that Batman is convinced that having another Robin isn't a horrible horrible idea. But let's be real, here. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ANOTHER ROBIN. I just want to make sure DC realizes that there is an opportunity here to be SLIGHTLY LESS OF AN ASSHOLE.

...3rd Robin to kick it? Did someone die other than Jason...?

Ahahaha I think the only reason I can operate with any sort of distance is I SORT OF GAVE UP ON DC WHEN THE REBOOT HAPPENED, like I said, I haven't actually been reading the comics much since Flashpoint (for multiple reasons), so, literally, distance. I'm not gone, just. DC and I, we're taking a little break. To find ourselves.

Well, sure. On one hand, it's one of my favorite running gags that all the Robins (save for Steph) are essentially clones of Bruce, but I would like to see more variety.

Oh, I was counting Steph. I know she wasn't Robin at the time, but I saw people include her in the "dead Robins" corner, so.^^* That was probably stupid, pls ignore.

It's weird, I'm not into the reboot either, but reading about Damian still was a gut punch. I don't even think it'll change that much, I'll keep being a fan, I'll keep writing, and I'll keep being happy in my preboot corner where everything is cool, but ... well, you know what I mean, it was a shock.

(Dude, stay away from the reboot. It's literally a pit of misery now.)
