Thank you. : \ Mom will be okay, it's a compression break so it should heal fast and she doesn't need a cast. I still can't believe I got sick and missed my trip; I've been looking forward to it for months! I'm so bummed. D: Shawn probably is exploring; Dennis said he seemed all inspired by his trip to Pololu. I'm glad he's taking advantage of his four-day weekend and going out and doing something instead of sitting around playing video games all weekend and then complaining about being bored.
Oh no, your poor mom! I hope she's alright (well, apart from that broken arm, which is bad enough if you don't happen to be Super SEAL).
It really sucks that you weren't able to go on that expedition. *hugs* Why does stomach flu always have to strike at the worst possible moments? It must be some kind of law or something. :P
Mom's doing okay, thanks. Haha my mom's actually about as close to being a Super SEAL as she can get for an almost sixty-year-old civilian woman... she's pretty badass.
The worst possible moment would've been a couple of days later when I was stranded in the backcountry, but yeah, as it is the timing was pretty freaking awful. D:

The airfare to Honolulu from Mpls has gone down to $930, sigh.
